Flood Risk Reduction 2.2
– Construction measures in the Mura River Basin

Works on the Slovenian side also in the final phase

The course of work on the construction site of the Benica embankment (Tomaž Galič)

The construction activities of the upgrade of the high-water embankment near the settlement of Benica as part of the FRISCO 2.2 project are in the final phase.

Construction work, which began in November 2020, will be completed in mid-May 2021. The result will be the construction of a new high-water embankment Benica, which will connect the embankments of the rivers Lendava and Mura. This will prevent the flooding of the return flood waters of the Mura River from the Mura Forest, which has so far threatened the settlement of Benica.

The course of work on the construction site of the Benica embankment is presented in the attached videos and photographs by the author Tomaž Galič.
